Played for : Geelong
1 | Frem | Wore McCarthy pretty well night and that was his main task. Will get warm as season unfolds. | 4 |
2 | NM | Ben Brown caused him some serious concerns at times but soldiered on. Will be glad to have that game out of the way. | 2 |
3 | Melb | Took debutant Tim Smith for a lot of the contest and apart from one mistake he was reasonably solid. | 5 |
4 | Haw | Key defender made a few skill errors on a day where he wasn’t put under huge pressure. | 3 |
5 | StK | Had Riewoldt/Bruce and okay defensively but did make a few mistakes when he got the ball. | 5 |
6 | Coll | Got the job on big Yank Cox and handy enough. Under siege at times and lots of his touches were cheapies out the back. | 5 |
7 | GCS | Had hands full with Lynch who kicked 3.5 and lapped up the 71 inside-50s. Did what he could given circumstances. | 4 |

18 | Adel | Got thrown the task on Jenkins and looked a little jittery at times down back. Pressure was telling at times. | 4 |
19 | Carl | Went to Curnow on occasions then had 'Big Meat' Casboult. Copped knee to back in third term but returned to relief of fans. | 4 |
20 | Syd | Battled Franklin all night and again took the honours. Franklin’s only goal came from a stoppage in the second term. | 8 |

1 | Haw | Great battle with Gunston whom he kept to three goals, although two not his fault. | 5 |
2 | GWS | Battled Lobb among others in steady display. Does his job. | 5 |

4 | Ess | Cats’ best. Kept Daniher goalless in a fine defensive performance. | 8 |
5 | Port | Battled Dixon and did that job pretty well all night. In pretty solid form. | 6 |
6 | GCS | Gave away two early goals to Lynch from free kicks but then steadied. Rarely under pressure. | 3 |
7 | WCE | Battled Kennedy and for the most part did a fine job nailing him down. | 6 |
8 | Adel | Night ended five minutes into first term when concussed in marking contest. | 0 |

10 | Carl | Battled away on Casboult and kept him to one goal from four marks. Did his job. | 6 |

2 | Frem | Battled Pavlich who got away enough. Tough day at the office. | 4 |
3 | GCS | Great battle with Lynch then carted from field after heavy knock in third. | 5 |

5 | Rich | Had the better of Riewoldt despite Tiger kicking three goals. | 6 |
6 | Coll | Got better of Cloke in key win for the Cats. Great way to celebrate game 150. | 7 |

2 | NM | Battled Petrie and was moved after having four kicked on him – not all his fault. | 4 |
3 | Carl | Celebrated 100th game with a win but did find Rowe tough to match at times. | 3 |
4 | Syd | One of few Cats struggling for form. Looks down on confidence. | 2 |
5 | WB | Good in second term but Jones kicked four and took five contested marks. | 4 |
6 | Rich | Took Riewoldt and while not at his best he took steps towards it. | 5 |

4 | Rich | Toweled Riewoldt most of the day. His one-on-one work was superb. | 8 |
