2017 Season

1 WB Used in defence, where his kicking is an asset. One nice goal from a hand-off, but simply doesn't get involved enough. 3
2 Rich Blanketed Riewoldt in the first half but found the going much harder thereafter. 6
3 Syd Good down back against the resting ruckman for large parts. Not big numbers, but played his part. 6
4 StK Competitive in the air but just a battler in other phases of the game. 4
5 Ess Started on bench, injected into defence and fumbled his way through most of the afternoon. 4
6 Geel Defensively had Cockatoo covered and that was the key to his role. Only six kicks but did what was required. 5
7 Carl Honest scrapper but he’s no star. Four kicks, three tackles, five marks. 4
8 GWS Sent to Cameron when the Giant had four on the board. Worked hard at his nullifying game. 6
9 Haw A couple of behinds in game 150. Made some handy plays late, but until then a game to forget. 4
10 Bris Thrown task on Hipwood and did that brilliantly after couple of nervous early moments. 7
11 Frem Played hurt late in the game. Stood up in some big contests. 6

16 Ess Gave away 7cm to Daniher but battled manfully all day. Daniher kicked three but he held his own. 7
17 GCS Played tall in defence on Wright and stuck to the task, keeping him to three goals. 6
18 WCE Awful. Destroyed by Kennedy and was beaten in basically every one-on-one and was shifted. 1
19 Adel Great job on Josh Jenkins in the first half but couldn’t contain his brilliance in the second. 6
20 NM Missed most of the third quarter after a head knock. Played on a host of Roos and no real influence before and after return. 4
21 Port Battled manfully against much taller opponents, received a heavy knock early in the game which took the wind out of him. 5

23 Melb Played back on Hibberd amongst others and wasn’t really a factor. 3

2016 Season

1   Played in VFL trial against Coburg.

3 StK Veteran plugged away in defence but couldn’t get anything going the other way. 3

11 VFL Not big stats but chased and harassed very well.

14 VFL Trudged away and was handy without being at his best. 14 possessions.
15 Carl A steady head on his return. Read the play well in the back half. 6
16 VFL Carried out his roles down back and up forward.
17 VFL Veteran half-back worked hard and was handy without starring.

19 VFL One of the Magpies best. Showed great leadership when required.
20 VFL Pressed claims for a senior recall with a best afield performance. 27 touches.
21 WB Did a good job defending Stringer in first half. Then couldn’t hold Bontempelli. 6

23 Haw Used as a defensive forward on Gibson and pretty good in that role. 5

2015 Season

1 Bris No touches in final term when Lions on the charge. Doesn’t get it much. 3
2 Adel Disappointing game. Used as a forward but had very little impact. 2
3 StK Started in defence on Membrey instead of normal forward role. 4
4 Ess Appears to be contributing far more in defence than attack. Disciplined game. 7
5 Carl Given job of minding resting rucks. Again did well. Kicking set up the Pies. 8
6 Geel Career form coming in, but no impact as third defender. 2
7 Rich Under pressure all day. In final term he tried hard to lift team. 6
8 GCS Steady influence and read the play well to cut off numerous Suns attacks. 8
9 NM Gave away inches to Brown but kept him goalless. 6
10 Melb Howe got away for two early goals then he tightened up and got on top. 5
11 GWS Had a number of opponents down back. Fair. 5
13 Frem Couldn’t get hands on ball, no influence against Mayne. Game to forget. 2

2014 Season

1 Frem Defensive job on Johnson at times but unable to subdue him and offered nothing offensively. 3
2 Syd Kicked two goals at important moments in a decent evening. 5
3 Geel Played both ends, contested hard but in and out of the contest. One goal. 5
4 Rich Played a few different roles, went hard at ball and man. 4
5 NM Chipped in up forward for a goal and three assists. 6
6 Ess Went to Hibberd after Bomber got on top early then back to Fletcher. 5
7 Carl Had hands full early with Robinson, but worked into game. Tackling a feature. 6
9 Adel Defensive forward on Smith who got away often. Pushed to defence late. 4
10 WCE Defensive on Glass first half then forced back on Kennedy in shuffle. Superb. 7
11 StK Ultra defensive forward who didn’t have a kick til third term. Pressure good. 3
12 Melb One effective disposal in first half then pushed forward and looked dangerous. 5

19 Port Had variety of opponents and worked up the ground to be an option. Handy. 6
20 WCE Used as a defender and as defensive forward at times on Hurn. Went hard. 5
21 Bris Used forward for an early goal and missed a sitter. Struggled after that. 2
22 GWS Deployed down back and at times found Hoskin-Elliott a bit slippery. 4
23 Haw Deployed forward and back without incident. Battled hard but lacked impact. 4
