2017 Season

2   Soreness.
3 Melb Started brightly and kicked a key goal from a mark in final term. Reasonable effort for first game of the season without starring. 4
4 Haw Ruckman did his job without setting the world on fire. Only four effective disposals but got back to help defence. 4
5 StK Nil-all draw with Longer; 10 hit-outs to advantage and not involved enough around ground to influence flow. 4
6 Coll Didn’t have a kick in the first half. Tried to lift in third term but had zero influence on the flow of the game. Didn’t take a mark. 1
7   Senior emergency.
8 Ess Effort was there but he just doesn’t have the impact a player of his size should. Took one mark for the night. 2
9 WB No. 1 ruck option had best game of career highlighted by 15 hit-outs to advantage, eight clearances and 24 disposals. 8
10 Port Battled hard against in-form Ryder. Effort was first class for second week in a row; 13 disposals, four clearances. 6
11 Adel Big man took the fight to Jacobs in what was a key match-up in context of game. Work ethic all night was superb. 7
12   Bye.
13 WCE Beaten by Vardy and fumbled his way through the night. Beaten by Vardy in a lot of the stoppages. 4
14   Senior emergency.
15 GWS Effort was superb. Stats not huge but provided presence around the ball. Effort like that makes him the No.1 ruck role. 7
16 Bris Sound in the ruck but more influential in general play where he had the better of Martin. 7
17 Haw Great battle against McEvoy. Didn’t star but certainly held his own with some presence around the ball. 6
18 Adel Beaten by Jacobs but couldn’t question his raw effort despite the fact well beaten. Pressure on him all the time. 4

21 Rich Battled well against Nankervis and Soldo. 13 disposals and 33 hit outs. Has found some solid form late in the season. 6
22 Coll Tried hard but probably outpointed in the ruck by Cox. Has to mark the ball better than he does. Did not take a mark. 4
23 GWS Battled hard against Mumford and was strong. Got back to help out in defence and rucked brilliantly. 7
QF Rich Big lug rucked against Nankervis. Had no impact on the game whatsoever. Has to London Fog and lift. 4
SF Syd As plain as a Bulgarian pin-up but lifted to be more of a Venezuelan arrangement. Great effort and first half huge. 7
PF Adel Hammered early by Jacobs. When he gets challenged in big games he’s got to find ways to lift. 2

8 Adel Great effort against Jacobs – 14 hit-outs to advantage and nice work around ground. 7
9 Coll Work-rate good but not much went right. Influence at stoppages down on previous weeks. 5
10 Carl Busted his boiler for the team but some thing didn’t come off. One nice snap goal. 4
11 GWS Huge game. Led clearances with 10, kicked a goal and laid four tackles to outpoint Mumford. 8
