2016 Digest:   His 2015 season was ravaged by hamstring injuries and he never managed more than two VFL games in a row. Signs so far are good as he’s been one of the best performed younger players over the summer. Recorded a personal best in aerobic running on a similar program to Rioli that looks like paying off.

2016 NAB Cup:   Due to play in Tassie in front of family but tweaked quad in warm-up. Because of last year’s injuries on a modified program since.

11 VFL Not big stats but did some handy things. Just needs a clear run at it with fitness.
13 VFL Laid five tackles to keep involved but didn’t see a lot of the ball.
14 VFL Did some good things down back, but needed to do more in loss to Port Melbourne.
15 VFL Bye.
16 VFL Quiet afternoon. Competed hard in close, but needed to win more ball.
17 VFL Been more sightings of Julian Assange in last three years than Zac during the game.
18 VFL Kicked a good goal on the run and was handy enough.
19 VFL One of the better Hawks who stuck to his role all day in loss.
20 VFL Took his chances with two goals and used the ball well by hand and foot.
21 VFL Laid six tackles and did some good work in the back half.
22 VFL OK at stages with his effort and speed but lacked a bit of polish.
23 VFL Had a dip and gave his all. Five tackles, but ball use was average.
